Connecting Communities in South Australia

Warsaw Free Family Fun Day
In Hackham West, ACHL joined local organisations and community members for the Warsaw Free Family Fun Day.
The event provided opportunities for families to connect with services, access resources, enjoy activities and build stronger community relationships.
Partnerships with organisations such as People Matters Hackham West and Good360 continue to help create meaningful opportunities for local communities.
South Australia
Supporting First Nations Storytelling
ACHL is excited to celebrate the success of Blakprint to Success, a short film produced in partnership with Southern Cultural Immersion.
The film was selected for the Heaps Good Shorts Film Festival and licensed by Country Arts SA, showcasing the importance of supporting First Nations voices, stories and creative talent.
Initiatives like these help strengthen cultural representation and create opportunities for emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander filmmakers.
South Australia
Bringing People Together Through Food
Community cooking sessions continued to create opportunities for connection, learning and laughter across South Australia.
Held at Tika Tirka and Christies Downs Community House, participants joined Chef Anita from Cooking with a Nunga and our staff member Elijah, to learn practical cooking skills while sharing meals and building community connections.
These sessions continue to strengthen wellbeing, confidence and social inclusion.

Youth Week Social Media Workshop
As part of Youth Week, young people in Adelaide participated in a Social Media Content Creation Workshop designed to build confidence and digital storytelling skills.
Participants learned how to create engaging content, share their stories authentically, and use social media platforms safely and effectively. The workshop provided a supportive environment where creativity and self-expression could thrive.
North Eastern Nunga Tag
ACHL was proud to participate in the North Eastern Nunga Tag event in Hillcrest, supporting young people, families and community members through a day of sport, fun and cultural connection.
From NRL Tag matches to family-friendly activities, the event was filled with energy and positive community spirit.
Community Highlights in New South Wales
Preparing for NAIDOC Week
In Kempsey, local families took part in cultural family photo sessions that celebrated identity, culture and community connection. The sessions provided an opportunity for families to come together, share stories and create lasting memories while proudly showcasing their culture. The photographs captured during these sessions were featured in community displays and activities during NAIDOC Week, highlighting the pride and diversity of the local community. These preparations have already brought people together and created valuable opportunities for cultural expression and engagement.

Celebrating Our Elders
The Kempsey Elders Ball brought together Elders, community organisations and volunteers for a memorable evening of celebration and connection.
The event recognised the important contributions our Elders make to community and would not have been possible without the collaboration of local organisations, volunteers and community leaders.
A special thank you goes to everyone involved in creating such a meaningful event.
